Darley Abbey Day 2017

Saturday 10th June 2017  11am - 11pm
Darley Abbey Day - The Heart of Darley Abbey

As ever we have lots on offer, catering for all tastes, ages, interests & levels of fitness! It will have a real feel of a village fete this time, look out for all the vintage tearooms, the balloons and quality bunting!  The day will showcase our beautiful village and celebrate our true sense of Community. As ever we will be raising funds for St Matthew's Church, however this time we are ploughing the funds for DACA and what we usually give to charities back into the Darley Abbey Community, to buy and fit defibrillators, (Cased and available 24 hours a day) at appropriate places around our community. There will be paramedics showing you how easy the defibrillators are to use and the importance of resuscitation, throughout the afternoon, please come along and see just how easy they are to use and how you could make a real difference.

We have the old favourites and some new things... Opening by the Derby born actress Gwen Taylor at St Matthew's, The Scarecrow Trail, Open Gardens, The Village Attic Trail, Baking & Photographic competitions, Free bus, Cricket match, Evening BBQ, an Arts Trail, Bike Registration, Home Safety, Open Church, Bell Boat on the river, paddle boarding, toddler footie and much much more. And the 63rd Derby Scouts will be having their Field Day on Dean's Field, to raise funds towards buying their HQ in the village.

You really need your copy of the programme to make the most of the day,
with its detail of times, venues and the map of course!  On sale in May!
Tremendous value at only £1... £1 going towards us looking after our community.
Even if you can't make the day, please buy a programme (or lots!)
Support us, raising funds for our community.

So please put Saturday 10th June 2017 in your diary, invite your neighbours,
friends and family to make a day of it, help us raise more money than ever before.

And.....if you would like to help us in any way, please get in contact. janet@people-matter.co.uk or 01332 342246. Could you make us some bunting (even single pieces on a string to add to lamp posts), are you willing to shake a collection tin? Blow up balloons? Give us a raffle prize? Help on any of the activities? Every little bit helps!  Hoping to see you on Saturday 10th June,  Janet Dean,  working with lots of wonderful people who love Darley Abbey and are working to make Darley Abbey Day brilliant for you.
