Cattle roam free on Nature Reserve

Cattle roam free on Nature Reserve

Once again the fence between Darley and Nutwood Nature Reserve has been breached and cattle are roaming freely on the Reserve causing quite a lot of damage. On one occasion last weekend the cattle even got into some of the gardens on South Avenue. The breach seems to have occured about two weeks ago at the north end of Nutwood near the foot bridge. The management group (who are a subgroup of Darley Abbey Society) reported the matter to the City Council as soon as it was discovered. The Council have written to the landowner to complain but so far nothing has been done. The Society has been asking the Council to either take legal action against the landowner, or repair the fence itself, but so far no action has been taken.
