Crime Report April 2012
Darley Safer Neighbourhood Team - Crime Report April 2012
Total crime for the month: 33
This incorporates the following:
Beat 510 – Broadway/Duffield Road area: 7 crimes
Beat 511 – Darley Abbey: 8
Beat 513 – West End estate: 13
Beat 527 – Nottingham Road/Chester Green area: 5
As you can see, the figures are much more positive this month. The burglary figures have the police! The offender was caught and has now been charged.
I'm really sorry to report that Sergeant Jim Shinfield is leaving the team in a matter of a few weeks. To quote the famous film, he had an offer he couldn't refuse! Seriously, we will all miss him he's only been with us a year. Sergeant Robert Wilson joins the team on May 15th.
Community News
Youth Provision
As you know, our Youth club opened its doors on Wednesday 7th March at St Anne's Church Hall, Watson Street. I'm happy to report things are still going really well, an average of 15-20 children attend each week. Last week, we had a visit from the Gangs Intervention team after it was suggested by one of the children. It went really well and the children enjoyed it. As reported last month, we have some interesting and exciting ideas for the future including karate and football coaching.
Our priorities for Darley are:
- School and University parking
- Anti Social Behaviour West End area
- Youth Provision in the area
Surgeries
There are no surgeries currently planned for the area, however we plan to rectify this soon so watch this space.
If you would like to speak to a local Officer you can contact us on 01332 552135 but please bear in mind this number is not manned all the time as we are out on patrol most of our shift but you may leave a message and one of us will return your call as soon as possible. If you want to record an incident or record a crime please use 0345 123 3333 or of course, the new 101 number. Please remember, we cannot try to solve an issue if you don't tell us about it! Please feel free to drop into the office at any time to discuss any problems or issues you may have.
