Darley Board funds street lighting schemes
At last night's meeting of the Darley Neighbourhood Board (25.06.12), it was confirmed that the Board would provide funding for lighting on Slack Lane (off Duffield Rd) to improve cycling and pedestrian access after dark. This will be carried out in the next financial year (2013-2014). The Board is also to consider providing funding for lighting the footpath that leads from the rear of the Broadway Pub to the bridge over the A38 into Allestree.
Only one application was received for funding from the Community Budget and that was from Patterns Properties Ltd for work on clearing trees on the river bank within the Mills. This was rejected by the Board as it came from a private company and not a community group.
