Latest Darley Neighbourhood Grants
At the meeting last Monday (17th December) the following grants were made from the Board's community budget.
Baby People Ltd, a not for profit company, was awarded £970 torun a series of music studio for young people based in and around Darley Ward. A condition was imposed that such sessions should not create a noise nuisance to neighbours.
Allestree and Darley Abbey live at home scheme was awarded £900 to help for elderly residents lead actiove and independent lives in their own homes. The services provided include coffee, tea and luncheon clubs, social outings, advice and help with a range of issues.
Friends of Darley Open Spaces were awarded up to £1,000 for additional plants to enhance the National Hydrangea Collection in Darley Park.
St Paul's Parish Church Council were awarded £560 to help towards the running of a flower festival next June.
River Street Community Group were awarded £1,000 to pay for professional advice from Derby Parks Department to help develop proposals for the improvement of St Alkmund's Town Green (former site of St Alkmund's Churhyard).
Little Chester Residents Association were awarded £684.19 for materials to produce their monthly newsletter.
Street pride have also been granted money to pay for the following projects:
Removal of Conifers at in Darley Fields.
Removal of willows on the river bank at Mill View Gardens in Darley Abbey village.
Provision of a dual recycling bin on Mansfield Road.
Re-instating the road markings on Dean's Field Car Park in the Village.
An application by the Darley Abbey Community Association for funds to repair a wall were deferred for further information.
