Telephone Pole on Lavender Row
Application has been made by British Telecom to erect a tall timber pole on Lavender Row to carry telephone wires to replace the one in a back garden of Number 9. The Darley Abbey Society are opposing this application on the grounds that it will be detrimental to the Conservation Area and World Heritage Site. The application will be considered at a meeting of the City's Conservation Area Advisory Committee on Thursday 19th January. At that meeting, David Ling, Chairman of the Society will reccomend refusal of the application.
